Student projects from FA BUT are part of an international exhibition in Paris
Projects by students from the Faculty of Architecture at BUT,
focusing on the post-war reconstruction of Odessa in Ukraine, are on display at
the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine museum in Paris. They form part of
the extensive exhibition ‘Heritage in Resistance: From Timbuktu to Odessa’,
which visitors can view until 3 January 2027.

The exhibition focuses on cultural and architectural
heritage threatened by armed conflicts. Through maps, photographs, models,
videos, works of art and digital reconstructions, it highlights not only the
destruction of significant sites, but also the possibilities for their
protection, restoration and preservation for future generations.
The exhibition also features student projects focusing on
the post-war reconstruction of Odesa. These were created in collaboration
between FA BUT, the Ukrainian Kharkiv School of Architecture and the University
of Limerick in Ireland as part of the international ‘Building Back Better’
workshop.
The project on display was worked on by students from FA BUT:
Eva Gebhartová, Emma Džurbanová, Charlotte Chupáčová and Sofiia Maksymova. The
work was supervised by Radek Toman and Alex Bykov.
The exhibition ‘Heritage in Resistance: From Timbuktu to
Odesa’ is taking place at the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine from 20
May 2026 to 3 January 2027.
